About Ehwaz
Ehwaz is closely connected to the horse and signifies movement. It is the embodiment of trust between the horse and ride and symbolizes a harmonious cooperation towards shared goals. Ehwaz represents partnership, unity, and adaptability. Gna, the messenger of Frigg in Norse mythology, rides the magical horse Hofvarpnir, symbolizing transition and progression. Her name hints at her transcendent nature, and she traverses realms, initiating change and delivering messages with far-reaching effects.
Sleipnir, Odin's eight-legged horse in Norse mythology, is the son of Loki and Svadilfari. Horses symbolize power in Norse culture, especially associated with war and Odin. Svadilfar’s name reflects his ability to move effortlessly across land and water. Nothing stands in the way of the horse nor the messenger Gna. They are aligned with Ehwaz, the rune of movement.
Flax in Norse mythology holds symbolic significance, often representing movement and transitions. In some stories, flax is associated with the Frigg, the wife of Odin, who was said to weave the clouds and mist from flax using her magical loom. This connection suggests flax as a medium for traversing realms, symbolizing movement between the earthly and divine. Flax, horses, and Gna all represent movement and progress as does the Ehwaz rune.
