ABOUT FEHU
Fehu symbolizes material prosperity and spiritual fulfillment. It is a high energy rune that attracts abundance, and associated with achievement of ambitious pursuits. The traditional meaning of the Fehu rune is portable wealth, and in modern times, it symbolizes spiritual growth and nourishment of the soul.
In Norse mythology, Frigg is the foremost goddess of motherhood, household management, and domestic arts. Her essence aligns with the abundance of the Fehu rune and the connection of the portable wealth the Fehu symbolizes. Frigg is the wife of Odin and Queen of the Aesir. Just like the Fehu rune, she emanates power. Although Frigg has high status and unimaginable wealth, she is a goddess that is known for discretion and wisdom.
The domesticated cat is a favorite pet of Frigg and Freyja, the goddess of fertility. Skogkatt, the Norwegian Forest Cat, is a symbol of abundance household and portable wealth. Freyja and Frigg, who share many similarities, have been depicted in ancient iconography as riding alongside each other on a cat and distaff respectively.
The distaff and other fiber tools are the emblem of Frigg. They represent her ability to provide for a household. She is associated with nettle, a stinging plant used by ancient Norse folk for the creation of fabric, nets, medicine, and magic. The phrase “grasp the nettle” stems from the idea of seizing the stinging nettle tightly and dealing with something unpleasant in a determined way. Similarly, when seeking the guidance of the Fehu rune, consider what hard work may be needed to achieve the prosperity that Fehu offers.
