About Laguz
Laguz embodies the essence of all life originating from the sea, encompassing its rhythms and depths. It reflects the fluidity of emotions and embodies feminine intuition. Laguz signifies heightened intuitive abilities and may suggest unconscious protection or guidance from higher forces, akin to prophetic dreams.
Ran, a figure in Norse mythology, embodies the ever-changing and flowing nature of the sea. As a personification of the sea itself, she symbolizes the constant flux and movement of the waters. With her net, she captures and guides those caught in the currents of life, illustrating the inevitable changes and transitions experienced by sailors and travelers on the sea of existence.
In Norse lore, seals are often associated with the concept of flow and change. In the myth involving Loki, Heimdall, and Freya, the gods transformed into seals during their battle over Freya's necklace. Seals, with their ability to move seamlessly between land and water, embody the idea of adaptation and transition.
Likewise, seaweed with its adaptive nature, became a staple snack for Vikings and a salty seasoning for food on voyages across the sea. The movement of seaweed and its fluid nature embodies the essence of Laguz. Ran, the goddess of the sea, and the mystical seals, who were even though to be part human, are also like the rune of water: constantly changing and adjusting in subtle ways.
