ABOUT URUZ
Uruz symbolizes boundless energy and the primal force within each individual. It embodies the strength of the aurochs, an extinct wild bovine, and signifies the gateway to the unknown. Uruz can provide intense and fiery energy, fostering the fertile ground for formidable actions, endurance, and vitality.
In Norse mythology, the goddess Audhumla's story intertwines with the creation of the cosmos, emerging alongside the primordial giant Ymir. Audhumla's milk sustains Ymir, while she nourishes herself by licking salt rocks. She licks these stones into a man, who was called Buri, and later became the grandfather of Odin and his brothers. Beyond myth, Audhumla embodies fertility, abundance, and nourishment, reflecting essential aspects of both cosmic and human life.
The aurochs, or wild ox, is a great ranger of the moors and creature of the mettle. Its massive horns represents strength and security. It stands upon the mossy moorlands as an indispensable asset to the people who depend on it.
Likewise, the moss itself has many versatile uses, and was an important part of ancient Norse life. Moss was used for everything from food preservation to personal hygiene. Like the moss, and the aurochs, the Uruz rune stands for strength and a solid base to stand on when doing spiritual work.
